    Need a new Win10 printer...

I am looking into getting a new inkjet/desk-jet color printer for my new Win10 system, and I need some advice/help in finding the right one.

Here is what I am looking for...

    1. I would like to get a Hp Inkjet/Desk-jet model. I have had GREAT success with this manufacturer and would like to stick with them.
    2. Win10 compatible (obviously).
    3. Dual, separate ink print cartridges (Black and color).
    4. I would like the printer to be sized approximately (H=7.11" W= 16" D=10") I have to size it to fit my cabinet.
    5. Horizontal paper feed tray and output tray.
    6. USB connection. (Not wireless) Cable not included is OK. I have extras here from my last HP printer.

If anyone knows of a HP Inkjet/Desk-jet printer with these features, let me know.

    I appreciate your help.

    Hi there

    @vomacka

These days go for printers that use less consumables --remember they can rapidly cost more than the printer -- also a lot of 3rd party inks can be of great value.Don't also waste your time with "Extended warranty's" -- these things are a huge rip off and cost quite a %age of the hardware itself !!!!. In any case you are in most jurisdictions covered by the Manufacturer's warranty anyway.

Commensurate with print quality, speed and cheapness to run (and compatibility with most OS's) I'd go for an EPSON XP series or newer models in a similar series -- can also do fax / scan as well . I've had problems in the past with HP dekjets etc.

Paper output is Horizontal as well as paper input so you don't need any Vertical stacking. Tray sizes good so you don't have to keep refilling every 2 mins if printing out a big manual etc.

This printer is really "plug and play" on Windows and via CUPS on Linux -- you don't even need to install any special Epson drivers (although nothing wrong if you do install them).

Also think what you really have to print -- at home I probably only either print photos or use the printer probably less than once a week --if that. Pretty well all printers are wifi / Lan enabled if you don't want wires / USB cables all over the place.

    Cheers

Well, I happen to like most hp printers. I currently use an HP ENVY model 5530 and it works fantastic. Look here to see if one fits your budget and likes:

One more thing, like @jimbo45 said, my hp envy auto installs drivers on windows 10 and Linus without asking for drivers.

    Enjoy!

7.11 X 16 X 10 (HWD), and horizontal paper feed and output tray.

I wonder if any printer meets your requirements. I see that some of the posters ignored the physical dimensions that you want.

Do you also want the input and output trays to be on the same side of the printer, as for a printer tucked away in a cabinet?
