Dragon Center bios update no boot

Msi released an update for my bios and I accepted to install it from the application. The tower restarted but never came back. No display not even the chance to enter the bios. I let it be for 30 mins and then decided to power down. It won't boot at all. What should I do? It powers on. I have lights & fans.

In most cases you need to remover power and cmos battery for a short while so the new bios can be loaded if it then starts you will have default settings and will need to redo settings

Hi if your not having any issues with the current bios then I would not update it unless their is an issue that a bios update will fix. as the saying goes if it isn't broke don't fix it.

Well I WAS having an issue with my ram, only 31.9gigs was being acknowledged in the OS though all 32 was in the BIOS. This little hiccup solved that issue.

Do you mean that you restored an earlier version of the BIOS?

Or just that you got the PC to boot with the new BIOS?

I'm pretty sure it reverted. It solved my problem so I didnt even think to check and see if it actually did update

You can check your firmware rev in Device Manager, Firmware, System Firmware. Look at the Device ID.

I have never done a firmware update that failed and reverted to the previous version, but I don't know that never happens.

    Please see my question above

You probably should have started a new thread.

I'm not much of a troubleshooter, but your error message looks more like a Windows problem than anything BIOS related.

A possible fix: Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade
