31.9 GB installed ram

My 2080ti failed and at that time I had the FULL 32gb ram installed
Using an RX580, until the RMA is completed, I now only have 31.9GB and sometimes I'll even see 31.5GB installed ram.

I have checked for errors, none found
Reseated the ram, Didn't work
Swapped sticks and ports, Didn't work.

TridentZ Neo GSkill 3600mhz 4x8gb
AMD Ryzen 3900x

Also, along the way I had inadvertently formatted my OS drive so I'm working on a fresh install that's up-to-date.
Resource Monitor shows 0MB is reserved and shows I physically have 32716mb

Where please are you seeing this

I have never seen resource monitor show 0MB reserved. I do not doubt that is what it shows in your case, but I suspect that apparent error, is connected with the installed discrepancy

OR is that from system where it shows installed (usable) - if not what does system show please - settings - system and then click - about - on left pane

As 32716 is 31.95 near enough, I personally would not worry about it at this stage. I would wait until you receive the Nvidia 2080ti and then see what the situation is.

Well that screenshot of Resource Monitor makes it even more of a puzzle to me, as not only does it show, as I am sure you have noticed 0MB hardware reserved, but it also shows 0 installed and 0 total.

I am slightly concerned that there is a fault on one of the sensors on the motherboard, which is where resource monitor obtains its data from, the information being passed across the system bus I believe. - especially if you find that the quantities shown in the screenshot change drastically when the system is at idle, compared with when it is under load.

Is there by any chance any evidence of other problems, or indeed any clues as to what may have caused the Nvidia card failure

Well, I bought the card used a little over 3 weeks ago on ebay. Seller's rating wasn't the best but not the worst and I figured it would be fine. Previously I was on an FX8350 and GTX1080 so I didn't feel the need to OC the card but the damage was already done. I noticed on day one something irregular with the card but ignored it. It slowly got worse and worse so I'll assume previous owner way overclocked it, knew they damaged it, and sold it real quick. Like a craigslist car with a "slight engine tick"

After trying what has been suggested since I posted, if it is still the same please check what is shown in firmware -UEFI/BIOS for ram. Does that show the 32GB.

As I said on my previous post I am perplexed as to how resource monitor shows ram for modified, in use, standby and free
then shows quantities under available and cached, BUT shows TOTAL as ZERO 0 and INSTALLED as ZERO

It appears to me that Windows knows how much is modified - free etc.,, so resource monitor displays that, but for some reason resource monitor cannot display installed

I do not have the knowledge to know if it displays ZERO installed as some form of default value when there is an error on an aspect of ram - you mention your changes between 31.5 to 31.9 etc.

The answer as to why it displays 0 will most certainly be a learning exercise for me.
