    BIOS update Will Not Install

    Hello guys,
I'm having a DELL Inspiron 3537 laptop running Windows 10 v1903, current BIOS version A08.
I downloaded the latest version A12 suitable for my device from official site: https://dl.dell.com/FOLDER05842977M/...n_5537_A12.exe.
When trying to run the installer from desktop, it asks for admin privilege, I choose Yes then nothing happen.

Any ideas why it just won't install?
    Thanks in advance.

Right click on the file and choose run as admin. Are you sure its the installer most dell files are compressed and unpack the actual program which you then run

Disable your antivirus before you run the BIOS update file and don't shutdown or restart until it ask for.

I already ran as admin still nothing.
It's the only package offered from dell.

I tried and disabled the antivirus and ran the installation without any change.
I also tried to install under safe mode and also "Disable early launch antimalware protection ", same issue

May I ask why you want to update bios? Are you having problems that a bios update will fix?

Well it's along story, recently having some issues and frustration with my laptop when checking for drivers updates I found BIOS update. So I thought may be it will fix my issues.

Newer version means better performance, right?

Last June I went for a Crucial BX500 SSD to speed up my Laptop. I cloned the HDD to the SSD using Acronis software offered by Crucial to make sure I get Windows stay licensed and activated and to avoid reinstalling the programs I use and the adjustment needed.
All went good but after sometime of usage windows was getting slower and laggy so I did a Windows refresh, installed all programs again - it was a lot of hassle but it was good for sometime.

I placed the SSD in place of the HDD and the HDD installed instead of DVD player via a drive caddy.

Recently I got issues that Windows get stuck at startup screen (where circles rolling around), sometimes it starts after loooong time but it is very slow and unusable and if I tried to shutdown it never shuts down, sometimes I got BSOD.

    BIOS update Will Not Install-whatsapp-image-2020-03-13-04.06.58.jpeg

I viewed tons of tutorials and videos and tried lots and lots of different thing and options, sometimes it just work for couple of weeks at random thing then the issue arise once more (one time I just logged on safe mode restarted and boom it worked again, other try I took the caddy drive out and put it back and it worked, other try I choose legacy boot then back to UEFI anf it worked) just random start.

Now it just went back at getting stuck or very slow and whatever I try nothing fix the issues.

I tried to remove the caddy drive completely and Windows just started perfectly, then installed the caddy after Windows boot up and it worked with no issues BUT after shutdown or restart the struggle returns.

Now in order to be able to start Windows I have to remove the caddy until Windows boots up then install the caddy back to be able to use it which is not inconvenient, impractical and driving me made.

So I thought updating drivers may help solve these issues and I stumbled at BIOS update, so I thought I would give it a try.

Have you obtained the correct BIOS version by searching using your Dell Service Tag? Run the BIOS update from an administrator account and run it as an administrator.
