    External Enclosure Bad drive

Well decided to check out from my old AMD FX system, the 2tb storage drive in the Mass Cool Enclosure, HDTune shows entirely red

It went thru that error scan the fastest i ever seen it do one lol, not sure if false positive or what, but just in case, transferring the data off lol

Getting Data off it now as fast as can lol

Good thing i decided to check the drive in the enclosure, before installing into case as possible replacement for my WD 1TB lol, sticks with Western Digital Internally lol

You say 2TB ( and by specs it is) but HD Tune shows as 250GB !!!!! Mass Cool enclosure has a low reputation ( as seen in user reviews). Better you connect the drive internally and check.

Yeah well i don't really got Internal room unless i remove my 1TB drive, but room right now only can fit my SSD, and 1 3.5 inch internally.

Will check out this drive more soon as can here, and go from there

As for the Mass Cool low quality Enclosure, planned for replacement soon as i can afford to, getting better one for my 8tb external storage drive, then will use the one currently housing the 8tb to replace the Mass Cool Enclosure, and junk that one, as this is second one i had from them, first one the Controller went out after only a year of use

To properly check disk's health use Hard Disk Sentinel. If the disk is damaged but can be read, copy all your data to a new disk and get rid of it.

If health is 100%, then do the quick test. It should not last longer than three minutes. If it does, the disk surely has a problem, but has not been apparent yet. If the test passes and last under three minutes, you can do the long test to verify that the disk surface is OK. You can also run check disk to fix any logical errors and improve performance. Open a command prompt as Administrator (search cmd and run as Administrator) and type the following commands. The first is a simple error fixing check disk. The second also marks bad sectors and reallocates data to good ones.

    chkdsk c: /f

    chkdsk c: /f /b /r

Replace c: with the appropriate drive letter. Windows cannot check the disk c: while running, so you will be prompted to do it upon startup. Reply yes and restart to check the disk. Marking the bad sectors makes the disk a bit faster but I would replace the disk if there are bad sectors.
