    Missing HDD and CD/DVD

    Hello Members,

I hav been putting this off for some time, but because it is raining and gloomy I thought I would ask this now. My HP Pavilion Notebook ha two physical drives. A 2tb Hard Disk Drive and a CD/DVD. They are obviously working as I can power up and use the computer, however despite my best attemps I can not display them.

Can someone out there give me some idea on what is happening, could I have changed a setting or something ? My Version of Windows 10 is 2004(OS Build 19041.113). Please help !

I believe that to be an Insider Preview edition which I now have at Version 2004 Build 19569.1000. Maybe if it was updated to the latest things might get straightened out. Any time working with test/BETA software there's bound to be problems, just "the nature of the beast".

I have just changed back to the earlier version as the version I was using was the same as you, but it didn't seem to make a difference. I joined up with insiders as I wanted to view the new components.

    Run Disk Manager (C:\Windows\System32\diskmgmt.msc)
Does the Partition has a letter assigned to the windows partition and to the CD/ DVD drive?

Expand the Disk Manager, expand the columns so we can read them and with the snipping toll take a snapshot of the whole window and save it to your disk.
On the Quick Reply window - Go advanced - and on the top you find a paper clip - Add File - Browse to the saved file - upload

    Missing HDD and CD/DVD

    Hi Megahertz,

Thanks for your replie(s). I have just finished checking my HDD and CD/DVD. The CD/DVD has a letter associated with it, but the HDD just hasa short description of what it is. I am having problems with getting a screenshot as I don't have some of the screens you have displayed.

Use the Snipping Tool to take a screenshot, save it and then attach it by pressing the Go Advanced button below the thread dialog box. Browse for your saved Snipping tool image and attach it in your next thread.

I have attached a screen image as requested. Hopefully it comes out OK.
