touchpad stops working till I log off

hello. I am using a lenovo y520 at work with windows 10 pro 1909. I had purchased an upgrade from home edition.
A few weeks ago, the touch pad started suddenly stopping from working till I switch users or log off.
If I switch users and then immediately unlock the first user, the touch pad works again. So it looks like a software issue.
Any idea where to look for errors, etc...?

Yes. I uninstalled it from device manager and enabled "uninstall software...". On reboot, windows update redownloaded and installed the driver and its software.
One hour later, the problem happened and in the middle of work.

I would check Lenovo support site for updated driver.

There's a couple of things bouncing around in my mind, one is that Notebooks can be set to disable the touchpad when a USB mouse is plugged in and the other is a key combination of Fn plus another to toggle the disabling or enabling of the touchpad. I'd consider the latter situation as a possibility, would wonder if using canned air to clean the keyboard would help. Perhaps booting to a Linux LiveDVD and running a program from it such as LibreOffice for a period of time could help determine if hardware or software issues.

@Berton, I can try the Linux CD thing. If I understand correctly, many manufactures are providing feedback for libinput library.

I don't think cleaning the keyboard will help. logging off or simply switching users immediately makes the touchpad work again. I am very sure this is a software issue.
