    printer questions

i have the brother hl l2340d printer and it loses the network al the time. i put a wifi extender next to it and it still loses the wifi connection more that not.

it has a printer port and nothing else, so does anyone happen to know if this model can be wired thru the network with a cat5 cable and some type of adapters? i will have to use the printer cable at the printer but then if it is possible to then run a cat5 cable or even some kind of usb connection? or do i have to just find another type of printer? this one works good when it works but i'm just getting tired of inputting the ssid every other week. thanks

Have you looked here for setup and troubleshooting? Set up your Brother machine on a wireless network

yes i have. i even downloaded the brother setup package and got a bunch of junk but it did help me get the printer installed. what i think is going on is my c7000 netgear modem router is doing a reboot at night and then when that happens the printer will not go back online. i've tried about all i know and with others helping and it is not working.

a friend of mine has the same printer and he had the same issue last year so i had him just plug it into his pc. my pc is like 30 ' away so that is why i went wifi. but it is getting bothersome now to have to go in and put in the ssid about every other week when the wife needs to print. if this unit can't be setup to use cat5 cable or usb cable then i will have to find one that does? hopefully i can get one that uses the same cartridge to save money there, i have a few extra of those. then maybe yard sale this one.

    thanks.
