1394 Legacy Driver Crashing Windows 10

Hi, I have recently bought a new PC. My RME UCX Firewire interface crashes Windows 10 repeatedly, an issue which did not happen with Windows 7. I have read on numerous sites that the legacy 1394 firewire drivers will work but, having downloaded the drivers and installed them, every time I try to change the legacy drivers in the device manager, it crashes Windows and forces a restart. I have uninstalled and disconnected the audio interface and ensured permissions are correct to make changes to the drivers. Does anyone have any ideas regarding why Windows 10 won't allow me to swap to the legacy drivers?
    Many thanks, Guy.

Thanks for your response. Yes, I've tried that. The driver installs, it is the acutal swapping over to the legacy driver in the device manager which is crashing it.

What legacy drivers do you refer to? These? https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...ndows-8-1-or-w

They're supposed to work. (https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...e-61a123d0de87) If carshes occur when the RME UCX drivers are not installed, I don't know where to go from there.

Are you using the latest RME UCX drivers? Fireface UCX - RME Audio Interfaces | Format Converters | Preamps | Network Audio & MADI Solutions
