2 drive letters for same external drive

    2-22-2020
Stats: windows 10 pro 64 bit, Macrium reflect,
2 external drives, 2 SSds - one for windows
10 and the other for my data

The two external drives are showing up in internet
explorer with the same drive letter. EX: ff and kk
Can't find an article on the internet that works.
I try to keep my hands off the registry.
    Please help.
    Thank you.

Please would you take a screenshot of File explorer showing this. Or make it two screenshots if that makes for a better explanation.

And, unless it was a typo, please explain what you mean by drives "showing up" in IE. Please post additional screenshots if it helps.

    Another question....

At the same time? It's common for a drive letter to be reused after a drive is ejected and another plugged in. It just becomes the next available letter.

You say one is for "windows 10". Is that for backup?

Final question. How are you connecting these 2 SSDs? Sounds like you may have a dual drive bay.

and, of course, the pics Denis asked for are really helpful. Second set of eyes sometimes sees things you may not.

    Thanks......

same drive letter for the same external drive

    Thanks guys for helping.
The external drive is a Slim usb external.

I attempted to upload the picture - don't think I was successful
The Slim drive is to be used to backup windows 10.
I any more info is needed i will be most happy to supply
    it.
Not sure if the picture was uploaded. They just had to go
and change the way I was used to. Will try again if you
    see no pictures.

Is there any data in the second drive volume? If not, then you can go to the disk partition manager and delete the volume for that. How to delete a volume -> YouTube. Please make sure you only delete the volume which has no data, keep in mind the drive letter. Remember to extend the first volume after deleting the second one. Again, only delete if there is no data on the second volume.

Edit: I apologize, I think I read the question wrongly and as such, this may not be relevant.

In the editing toolbar as you write a post, click on the picture icon 2 drive letters for same external drive-tenforums-editing-toolbar-picture-icon.png [sometimes, as just now, it can take a while to let you browse to a picture to post]

It's so simple with my Canon camera. I take the picture with the
camera and then copy it and go into the email and paste it there.
    Been working for years........
