Samsung NVME Driver vs Microsoft NVME Driver little bitty question

    Hello All

Have an OEM Samsung M.2 ssd in my HP Omen gaming laptop, which is the best NVME driver to stick with, *Note Samsung Magician will not install says my m.2 not supported. Looking for best course of action/advice to do in this matter***

    Thank you all in advance

Possibly a stupid question: what make/model is shown for the SSD in Device Manager?

What you have is this, MZVLW128HEGR | Samsung Semiconductor Global Website Also known as a PM961

Anyways, you can grab nvme drivers from here. https://s3.ap-northeast-2.amazonaws....Driver_3.2.exe

Or scroll down this page to find the same driver link. Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus | Samsung V-NAND Consumer SSD | Samsung Semiconductor Global Website

I take no responsibility to what happens if they're not compatible or for any other reason related to this. As your product page has no support or even download sections.

    Also known as a PM961. It's a PCI-E 3 X4 drive, and I believe it is NVME as well.

The latest Samsung NVME drivers apparently don't support it, though. SSD Tools & Software | Download | Samsung V-NAND SSD | Samsung Semiconductor Global Website

I wonder whether Samsung Magician supports it? A little Web search finds an instance of someone who claims to have installed it on a system with a PM961: How to install Samsung NVME drive on OEM drive (PM961) | Tom's Hardware Forum

The claim is that only the Windows NVME drivers are available, though.
