how do I stop windows 10 1903 from updating synaptics mouse driver

When I updated last time my synaptics mouse driver updated for windows 10 1903 and made it so that I couldn't disable the touch pad any longer. It would only allow me to change what the mouse did. I updated and then had to do a system restore to resolve the issue.

Right now, I can turn off the touch pad. But once I update again it won't let me do this. It just shows a picture of the mouse and how to change setting, it won't look like this anymore.

It will show a picture of the mouse, with keys highlighted etc...I paused to updates for 7 days so that I could try to get this resolved before updating again. When I resume the mouse update is still there. I did something that I found on here to stop mouse driver updates on HP laptops, it was something easy for me, not changing the directory. Unfortunately I can't find that older post I used.

I tried that. The ability to disable touchpad no longer is there. Just a picture of the mouse and how to change what the mouse does. Thank you for your reply though.

That didn't work for me. It only showed how to change the sensitivity etc. No place to disable it.

weird F6 didn't work, found this in google

To disable the Double Tap to Enable or Disable TouchPad feature, open the Touchpad tab in Mouse Properties.

    • Click Start , and then type mouse in the search field.
    • Click Change your mouse settings.
    • Click Additional mouse options.
    • In Mouse Properties, click the Touchpad tab. ...
    • Click Disable.
    • Click Apply, and then click OK.

That didn't work either, sorry I should have quoted the post above yours. This is what I see when I do what you said.

That's what I tried the first time. And it worked until the update. Then like I said there is just a picture of the mouse. I tried mouse properties and there was no touchpad tab.

Try using the Window Update "Show/Hide" tool.
