I'm sorry, I don't see a "see above" to see...if that makes sense. If you read through all my posts, at first I wanted to stop the update for the mouse, at this point I can't. I did pause updates for 7 days. What I want to know now, since I saw it, is if it's a good idea to uninstall the click pad now that I can see it, after I update that option will be gone and I'll have to do a system restore again. I would really like to avoid that.

Will the Show/Hide even work if the new driver isn't listed in the updates? Because when I did a system restore last time as soon as I checked for updates it was almost immediate that it was downloaded and pending restart, it didn't take any time for it to download. Plus I tried finding the old one to restore. I don't have a cd slot on this 2 in1 laptop, I don't have any way of backing up to the old driver. Like I said in my posts, that feature was grayed out and I wasn't allowed to do it.

Some driver updates are delivered by Windows Update. Some can be scheduled independently. As there are variants of the Synaptics driver I'm not sure which applies in your case.

Ah, okay. I was looking for a previous post from you. If you read though the posts, do you think it would be a bad idea to uninstall the click pad before I stop the 7 day pause, and then let it update? My driver update is being delivered by windows update.

Second, use a 3rd party utility and take control of Windows Update yourself. That way only what you want gets downloaded. That applies to all Windows Updates.

So my real question right now is, would it be a bad idea to uninstall the click pad while the option is still there before I stop the 7 day pause and restart which will download the new driver for the mouse?

When I installed the mouse driver that windows update wants me to install it must have been compatible as the mouse worked, I had to run a system restore because I was not able to disable the click pad any longer. It just showed a picture of the mouse and the options for it. (please see screen shot in first post). When I looked at the click pad it only let me change the sensitivity, when I clicked on "more options" it took me to the mouse, which like I said, wouldn't let me disable the click pad whilst the mouse is plugged in. If you look at the screen shot in post #19, it shows that I am able to uninstall click pad before I resume updates that are now paused for 7 days. I was hoping I could do that without an issue so that I don't have to go through another system restore as I said in my first post and in subsequent posts. I will if I have to, and I'll have to run another system restore and hope that the show/hide works. However, when I tried that before the new driver for the mouse showed up almost immediately and the show/hide option didn't show it as being something I could hide. Somewhere I was able to turn off driver updates that was easy and not like the link you shared. Hopefully I can figure out how I did that so I can undo it, I didn't realize it would be a problem at the time. And to answer your previous question, no, I did not try installing the 'precision touchpad driver'.

After I update, there is no third option as shown in your screen shot. There are only two. I don't know where to find "untick show compatible hardware". Since your screenshot is in a different language it makes it hard for me to understand.
