I'm so sorry for the multiple replies, I didn't see it and didn't realize it went to a page 2.
Perhaps you should try to update BEYOND what Microsoft offers. It makes no point to try to stop automatic driver updates, it's going to be a losing battle.

I downloaded it and it said there are not updates to hide.
It looks like you have two choices: Do another system restore, then use the show/Hide tool to block the unwanted driver or let the unwanted driver install, then go into Device Manager and try to find and reinstall the old driver. If you use method two, be sure to run the Show/Hide tool to keep the unwanted driver from returning.

I haven't installed it yet. I paused the updates for 7 days when I started this thread. I unpaused it so that the show/hide tool would find the unwanted driver, but it didn't. When I first ran the show/hide tool it only wanted to hide the definition updates, so I paused and unpaused the updates again and it said there was nothing to hide. I'm sorry, I missed telling you that bit at first. I was being distracted when I posted. I have no choice but to update, I need the definition updates and other updates. Then I'll post and try to figure it out from there. Or...while the touchpad shows when I right click on the start button and click on device manager, would it be okay to uninstall the click pad? This won't show once I update and I will no longer have the option. Oh, btw, when I went into device manager after I first installed the mouse update, it would let me reinstall the old driver, or the go back to old driver was grayed out and I couldn't choose it. So I did a system restore and posted here.

It wouldn't let me edit again. I meant to say that after I first installed the new drivers, before I ran the system restore it wouldn't, not would, let me reinstall the old mouse driver or go back to the previous driver.

Your first post seemed to show a screenshot of the unwanted driver essentially installed and awaiting a restart. I don't think there any way to back out of the update in that situation, short of avoiding a restart or doing a system restore, so you still have the same two choices, system restore or let the new driver install and try to find and reinstall the old one. Whichever method you choose, you have the Show/Hide tool to prevent the unwanted driver from returning.
