I was thinking of a Windows property. (Which does not exist.)

Not sure that I have ever seen a .pdf that was set to forbid printing.

How would you have seen it if you didn't know where to look?

Look we're here to learn stuff too. Though I'm confident in my knowledge I'll freely admit I don't know everything. So if you could just show us instead of being condescending we'd all learn something.

BTW I use Acrobat and I can't find it. What version? Show us?

I wouldn't. But I might have noticed if the file refused to print.

For Foxit pdf Reader it's in File, Properties, Security.

clicked on print buy the print icon lights up while the cursor is on it but does nothing

1 Print any other pdf document to prove that your pdf application is okay, then
2 Print something that is not a pdf just to prove your printer is okay, then
3 If the printer is okay but the pdf application is not, reinstall your pdf application and try printing again, and / or
4 If the printer is not okay, apply whatever diagnostics it was installed with, follow the guidance in its user manual or seek help on the maker's support site & user forums.

To one person I can not print any pdf files but I can print all other files. Today I got one file to print and now I forgot what I did to get it to print as I was trying one thing after another. What I do not understand is that it will print other files but not pdf. I do appreciate your help.

If I have not said this, when I put to cursor over the print icon, it highlights or brightens but I get to feedback from the printer and I get no drop down box. Just FYI
