New Install of W10 Pro on new SSD - USB Mouse will not stay powered on

I have just installed W10 Pro on a brand new SSD.
But after switching back to my other SSD with W10 on it I now find that on the new install the mouse pointer is nowhere to be found. I can remember setting the mouse options to show the cursor by pressing Control, but that does not help either.
The light on the mouse will light up for a very short time, and then die, if I restart.
Even when the mouse light is on, the cursor is nowhere to be seen.
I see that I have a notice below this input box to advise me to give my W10 version number.
I don't have that, but it is the latest ISO downloaded from Microsoft. It's the November 2019 version.

Hello, I believe the new instructions trying to get people to add their build number rather than us endlessly asking for it includes the means to do it. However without a mouse that would be difficult.

Settings, About or win key + r, winver
are two basic ways to get that info.

What is the difference in build between the two SSDs?

It would be useful to see the mouse driver details from the Device Manager for both to confirm the driver is installed.
You can do that provided you can log in even without a mouse.

    E.g. Win key + s, device <return>

Device manager opens; tab, then down arrow, <return>
    - and by using tab, arrow and return keys you can view the driver details.

What sort of mouse are you using? Wireless? Wired?
When you log in, is the mouse pointer visible on the login screen?

Can you get to Safe Mode from there (power button, SHIFT + left click Restart etc...

And in Safe Mode, does the mouse then work?

    Check your settings here:

Found a workaround - Installed again - as the install was so new

Thanks for the info, but as the install was still at the very early stages I decided the best course of action was to put the old drive back in, re-format/delete the new drive with the problems and installed again.

This seems to be working (So far)
Even though the mouse was failing in windows, it was functioning OK in the BIOS.
Whatever I did to get into safe mode, it either took me nowhere, or took me into the BIOS again ?

Anyway all looks OK just now.

    Thank you again.
