    Micro SD Card Not Recognised

Hi I got a new micro SD card size 512 GB, and put it in my mobile and was transferring files and all was well till all of a sudden Es File Explorer crashed, after that my phone never recognised there was an SD card inserted.

I removed it but wasn't able to unmount it, then I tried it in my PC and windows would not recognise it either, I tried doing a disk check but nothing came up so I checked in Device Manager and properties, and all it showed was a mass storage device, so it was just recognising the card reader, but not the card inside.

Hope I explained it well enough and someone can help thanks.

What brand is this card & where did you buy it?
Fake micro SD cards are common which misrepresent their brand & their size are common particularly on eBay & Amazon marketplace (but not from Amazon themselves).

Then you should probably return it to MyMemory for replacement.

    Welcome to Windows Ten Forums!

Do you have another computer where the Micro-SD adapter (if needed) and Micro-SD card can be checked?

Hi yes already checked on a little laptop I had, and it won't recognise it either just wondering if there are any free programs out there to fix this sort of thing thanks.

    Try this:

Corrupted Micro SD Card Repair Tool/Software | Free Download - EaseUS

If no go, I would suggest exchanging the Micro-SD adapter (if it came with it) and/or the card.

I've seen the same problem when 2 or more machines don't properly recognize the little card, it could be the adapter that comes with card to enable use in a computer's slot. The same small card can be used in cell phones for storage, maybe it was formatted there and the computer doesn't like it. SD/SDHC cards for use in cameras have to be formatted in the camera as the computer formatting messes them up even though Windows and other OSes can work with them.

Thanks I'll give that a try and let you know how I go.
