HP Mouse having mind of its own

    Howdy,

I am using a HP Touchscreen 23.8" Full HD All-in-One
    Desktop
24-f0137c, utlilizing a wired HP keyboard and wired HP mouse.
I run Windows 10 Home fully updated and according to my security programs spyware and virus free.
A few weeks ago out of the blue my HP mouse started to have a mind of its own. This only happened when I was roaming around my Facebook page and responding to posts by my friends. It seemed that every time I would click on the 'like' button or reply to a friend that my cursor would zip down the page about four or five inches. I have tried another HP mouse on this computer and it produced the same problem.
I am using the Edge browser while my wife who uses Firefox on the same computer with the same mouse does not have this problem.
    Any ideas?

    Thanks and regards,

Get a different wired mouse and make sure that the touchscreen is disabled when keyboard and mouse are plugged in.

    Morning bro67 and thomaseg1,

I appreciate both of your suggestions. Tried them both ... but mouse problem still exists. I guess I will just have to learn to live with it.

I just can't understand how the mouse works correctly for my wife when she is responding to her friends' posts while using Facebook or Firefox.

If you have any other possible fixes feel free to respond.

    Thanks and regards,

Try using firefox or chrome to see if the issue is with edge or not.

Check your mouse settings especially for scroll and speed

    Hi thomaseg1,

The mouse problem doesn't happen when using Facebook on Firefox. I did slow down my mouse speed as well as scrolling options but still not fixing the erratic mouse.

    Thanks and regards,

Your Problem is probably with Edge, you could try downloading the Beta or waiting till
Mid January for the Chromium version to come out

    Hi thomaseg1,

If Edge is coming out with a new version in mid-January I'll just want and see what happens after I give that a shot.

    Thanks and regards,
