    is hardware OK (Win 7) for upgrade to windows 10


    I download Windows media creator tool - run it - accepted terms - and got to point of two options

    • UPGRADE this PC now
    • Create media(DVD, USB stick, ISO)

    Is hardware OK (Win 7) for an upgrade to windows 10 for this PC???
    Or to see any problems with hardware --- I have to proceed more??? with UPGRADE this PC now

    Can use a DVD DL created with ISO [win 10 64-bit] in Summer 2019 [1903] to upgrade the Win 7 PC, rather await download all windows 10 instantly from old slow win 7 PC????
    After inserted DVD DL with 1903To DVD drive of the Windows 7 PC, And this has a hardware component that's not compatible with win 10, Before start update I will get noticed the problem from Microsoft windows diagnostics of the 1903 DVD, and will can Not proceed till fix problems e.g. upgrade graphics card...?

    I don't know the details of your PC hardware, but if Windows 7 runs OK, it is very very likely that Windows 10 will be OK too.

    I think in one of the other PC with win 7 or win 8.1 I run media creators tools and in some step prompt/found graphics card not supported... for win 10. I didn't found alone reading specs of win 10, but the tool says me... after changed graphics card the tool said all OK and continued OK with upgrade... That I ask to reach this step in this current PC - win 7 - must be all OK for the upgrade? Or must continue to upgrade to show this?
    and got to point

    There's always a risk in upgrading PCs that are not supported by their manufacturer for Win 10. That said, millions are upgraded successfully.

    You have not said what your PC is, so it is totally meaningless to ask
    is hardware OK (Win 7) for an upgrade to windows 10 for this PC???
    I suggest you use Google.
    Search for your PC type - assuming it's not custom-built- and "Windows 10" and see if there are reports of anyone with one like yours upgraded to Win 10.

    But there's another question. For a small number of users, one build of Win 10-say 1709- works fine, but if they upgrade to, say, 1903, either it fails to complete upgrading or there are problems such as low disk transfer rate or audio stutter, for example.

    So no-one without exact and precise details of your PC and knowing it has been successfully upgraded to a given build of Win 10 should try to answer your question.

    Best approach:

    a. Create a disk image of your current build using e.g. Macrium Reflect (free). With a disk image on an external drive, should things go badly wrong, you can always restore what you have now, and you have a complete backup of everything.
    b. Try upgrading. (Which you start having logged in first).

    Please read this:
    Upgrade to Windows 10

    You should uninstall any security software, ensure you have at least 30Gb free on C: and disconnect any unnecessary peripherals.

    Note that upgrading can fail, and be next to impossible to diagnose.

    Note you can upgrade from your existing installation or clean install Win 10 using your (valid) Win 7 license.

    I mean to reach this step in media creator tool, this tool searched / investigate the PC hardware and found can proceed to upgrade??? because of...

    the DVD ISO upgrade to 1903 can also show incompatible hardware, if exist, for old win 7 PC???

    There are some instructions required for Windows 10 and the 64 bit version has more requirements than the 32 bit version of Windows. You will need to check the instructions provided by your CPU with the Windows 10 requirements,

    I would just try updating to Windows 10 using the Media Creation Tool. The installation will fail and you should get an error message if there is an issue with your PC,

    Do back up your Windows 7 installation before upgrading e.g. Macrium Reflect

    Also tried boot from DVD DL with 1903
    To DVD drive of the Windows 7 PC
    But awaited 15-20 minutes but Not boot...well?

    Also as said in just prior post ... i tried also run setup.exe from this DVD DL 1903 but get dll error alert, and failed run it...

    When create a DVD DL for upgrade win 7 to win 10 the DVD is for both efi and bios systems? My system is bios

    So Try media creators tool...? In this tool can paused and restarted the download even between shut downs???

    almost guaranteed windows and the PC will work.... but some of your other hardware may not, for example for no other reason than to make you buy new hardware MS like to

    1) give out updates that can and do wreck the harddrive - was a class action lawsuit for this in USA, after experts found it was baked in to one release of the OS and I can vouch they released this unfortunate side effect again recently. I've witnessed on 4 separate systems - directly after an update or install of win 10, the drive making unheard of noises till it goes bang. Never does this on any other OS

    2) deliberately stop good drivers running and not support, so things like, TV cards, webcams, wifi cards, and printers won't operate after win 10 goes on. Its much less than it was when win 10 came out where lots of owners rolled back to win7 because devices weren't supported (as you expect). However, if a signed win 7 driver was good there is no excuse for the device not to work on win 10 other than MS and hardware manu collusion....

    Both my webcam and the network card all work... one was a case of flashing a later cameras name to the firmware so windows thinks its one they support and the wifi card was to install drivers from a different manufacturer that uses the exact same hardware and MS don't know any better as they forgot to black list this one - and 4 years on both work perfectly and never had an issue!
