I got myself into some mess on Windows 10 1903

    Hey there,

So I took some precautions before I decided to use Auslogics Driver Updater. Basically my boot time to get started was being slow and took longer then usually so I thought I should update any old drivers as well as edit my start up programs and disable a few of those.

I took a system restore and a full backup of all my drivers with double driver.

System restore managed to fix some issues and double driver solves them short term.

Whenever I restart the system my usb keyboard and usb mouse do not respond and I also am stuck with the old windows boot manager with black background instead of the modern blue background boot manager.

I always have the issue with:

the intel chipset not starting up and it not recognizing my Logitech keyboard.

Edit: it seems double driver came through and solved the issue by letting it do a full restore of the backup I made.

In any case what is your opinion of driver updater programs like Auslogics Driver Updater?

Driver update programs are generally frowned on here. You'll often seen the term "snake oil" associated with them.

There's an easy way to back up existing drivers with a command, but I've forgotten the details even though I ran the command a few months ago.

Third party driver update programs are snake oil.

All drivers are provided by the Computer/Motherboard manufacturer. there is no reason to use 3rd party Driver update programs. Many times it will identify a perfectly good driver that may be a little older but is specifically written for this hardware by the manufacturer, as needed to be updated, the update may not be compatible with the hardware.
