    OK.

    Is this a Desktop?

    1) Can you test the drive on another W10 system (if HW compatible)?
    2) Could you perform a full system backup for restoration and perform a clean install of W10 with that drive installed to test? No VM.

If you can't then we could try SFC, DISM, Repair Install, etc.

    Let me know, thanks.

    No, a laptop.

    1) I don't even know how to open the PC so how can I take the drive and take the other PC's one?
    2) I already did that and used SFC, DISM and Repair Install.

I would think by this time...you should just buy a portable CD DRIVE that reads/write from a USB port of the laptop. Something like this: Robot Check

If this works, then you know it is the drive in the laptop. anyway, my 2 cents worth.

I wanted to avoid that but maybe I don't have a choice... Or maybe I should get this fixed, if possible.

Well, to fix a CD drive in a laptop, you will have to buy one that fits your laptop (if they still make one). I would guess that you could buy the USB one and save a ton of money AND then, when it is time to buy a new laptop (which will more than likely will not come with a cd drive) you could use the USB one on a new laptop and still be able to burn CD/DVDs.

I bought this laptop in the Summer of 2014 and has been discontinued. Maybe I'll have to do that but why do you say a new laptop more than likely won't come with a CD drive? What about a DVD/Blu-ray one or it most likely won't come with one at all? Is a CD drive (and maybe a DVD one) considered too old, nowadays?

Yes, I was considering mentioning that but I wanted to see if it could be avoided, especially for laptop (vendor, please!)

It's all up to the OP at this point.

Well, maybe it's the only choice (or maybe someone can fix this one)... Can someone help me with this post's last question?

I'll be blunt. CD/DVD/BR internal drives on a laptop are quickly going dinosaur. USB flash is in, espeically USB 3.1 Gen 2. Yes, Gen 2.
How do you think that these mid to high end laptops are so thin?

Well, you're right... Do you think someone can fix this drive? If not, I guess I should buy an external one since it may be to expensive to buy an internal one and it may not work, right? What about external DVD drives? Are they going to disappear in the short term?

Not in the short term, but if your W10 is not working properly and you plug it in - it may not work at all.
    Hence my recommendations above.
