    Logitech Keyboard issues

I recently bought a logitech G413 keyboard. If it is plugged in the pc will not boot, it just hangs at the motherboard spash screen indefinately. If I unplug it and wait until the splash screen is gone, it boots up fine.

I just updated to windows 10 (v 1909) and the logitech software did not continue to work. I really only want that software to turn down the brightness on the keyboard lighting. I read some where to uninstall it and re-install it. The lghub installer crashes. Clearly I am doing something wrong.

Make sure the USB cable is plugged into a black USB 2.0 port, not a blue USB 3.0 or red USB 3.1 port.

Additionally you might check this FAQ scroll to "Connect the G413, G512 and G513 gaming keyboards to a computer" and click it.

The failing to boot problem has been there since I bought it several weeks ago, but I don't boot often. After installing win10 I've been booting a lot trying to sort out all the issues that cropped up.

Initially my attempt to fix the logitech issues after installing win10 was to uninstall it and reinstall g hub. The uninstall seems to have gone badly. It is not listed in my add/remove programs but there are remnants of it in my program files and registry. Trying to install it crashes. I did follow the instructions on the faq on the logitech website. I've downloaded an uninstaller program to help, geek uninstaller, but it doesn't see any logitech software to uninstall.

When I try to run the lghub_installer I get a "Logitech G Hub has stopped working" error and it closes.

I have the Logitech 710+ and I have noticed that I can control the lights even if there is no software installed. Seeing as that's all you want the software for is the light control, why not give that a try. YMMV Hope this works for you.

I found the key that allows me to control the light brightness. It works, thank you! I would like to regain control of settings of my mouse though and I had intended to try some of the features later. BUT having to unplug the keyboard to boot up is a problem. For instance I am not able to boot into the bios, because I don't have a keyboard that works at that stage of booting up (not that I need that often).

It is currently and has been plugged into black usb sockets, I'm actually going to try plugging it into the blue usb2 sockets since that is what logitech recommends.

edit I tried plugging the keyboard into the usb2 sockets. No change, still wouldn't boot with it plugged in. I moved them back to the usb 1 sockets.

There actually is no recommendation on that. What they do recommend is "using both USB cables so the pass-through USB port is functional." However, that shouldn't have an impact on your issue.

As to you BIOS issue, do check that Legacy USB support (something like that) is enabled. This "should" allow you to use both mouse and keyboard in the BIOS.

As stated, boot into Setup (Bios) on the Main page, at the bottom it should have Halt if.. With a few options, like no keyboard change it to Do not Halt.with errors or some such
Move over to Integrated Peripherals and look for Legacy USB or keyboard, if it is disabled, using your Enter and arrow keys. Enable it. Save and Exit.

can't boot into bios with this key board or the old one. Neither seems to be recognized during bootup. Do I need to go find an old ps2 keyboard?

I've tried a variety of things. I turned off fast boot, so I would have a longer window to hit the f2. I did the shift-restart into the restart options, but unlike the video I saw online I did not have an option for uefi settings, and staring in safemode isn't helpful.

My inability to boot into bios/uefi is a problem with another support thread I am getting help in.
