Hardware Raid card for Gigabyte Z390 UD

I tried the LSI/3Ware 9650SE-2LP and the 9650SE-4LPML in a new Gigabyte Z390 UD motherboard build, but the motherboard doesn't seem to be compatible. During boot, it seems to try to load the 3Ware Bios, but then fails.

Is there a hardware Raid card that is compatible with the Gigabyte Z390 UD motherboard ?

I only need RAID1 to insure uptime (daily backups are being done in addition).

    1. Does the controller card show up in device manager in Windows without any issues? I believe that UEFI (incorrectly referred to as BIOS) full support is only required if you intend to boot from the raid array. Like old legacy BIOS systems that did not support GPT partitioned drives - GPT drives would be recognized by the Windows driver, just not bootable.

    2. Have you considered using a SAS controller card with a SATA breakout cable?

    3. Why not just use the RAID capability of the motherboard itself?

    4. The 9650SE cards are only SATA II. Don't you want SATA III?

    Thank you for your reply.

    1. I haven't yet loaded Windows 10, but yes, I'm going to use the array for a boot drive.
    2. I'm open to another controller, and sure an SAS with SATA breakout cable is fine. I just need it to be compatible with my motherboard.
    3. I'd prefer to use a hardware RAID card to keep it separate from the motherboard.
    4. SATA III would be preferable, but SATA II is OK too.

It appears to be hardware RAID?
    Thoughts?

FYI, this is a Hardware RAID 1 card that works fine with new hardware running Windows 10:

You do have to set storage boot option to 'Legacy' in BIOS.
