    Printer Problem

I have just bought a new Wi-Fi Epson printer. When I print from PC it is instant, but when I try to print the same doc from my laptop it takes up to 5 minutes to send to printer.
PC, laptop, printer, and router are all in the same room. running W10,1909.

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

Most printers only use the slower 2.4Ghz band which can make them slower, maybe not 5 minutes slower.

You didn't describe much about your test document and graphics can produce a lot of data.

Could I suggest you try a simple text document, something created in notepad, say two sentence and see what performance is like.

Also in Windows under settings, devices, set your wireless printer as default rather than allowing Windows to choose default.

It was a short word doc that I printed. It is default printer, and connection is same for PC and laptop, but only the laptop is slow to send.
I did ping test from laptop to printer and it is perfect.

Is the printer connected to wifi or still connected via USB to the desktop? Even on 2.4, there should not be any delay. If it is an issue with the printer after checking everything, return it and look at getting the Samsung Xpress M2825dw. I do not print in color and it has enough RAM onboard and has a Duplexer.

I use a office grade flatbed with duplex scanner feed scanner for document scanning, which is very rare if I have to scan.

Printer is wifi to both PC and laptop. I don't think it is a printer problem, but could be wrong. Can't understand how ping is OK, but sending printing isn't.

Are you using the printer manufacturer driver? Is it Postscript or PCL?

What ever it is can you try alternate?

You didn't say which Epson printer?

I've an Epson XP-960 which is strictly Wi-Fi and there are no delays printing from other PC's. In fact I just double-checked after reading your post by printing from two different laptops and both were instantaneous. I've a network of 4 PC's and the printer prints from all 4 without delay.

Right-click the icon in Devices and Printers, choose Printer Properties and check the setting in the image above.
