Initially only had the pump on CPU_fan and the the fans on SYS - this, however, resulted in the pump going at a rate of knots whilst the rad fan was coasting along - reading the lower mobo temp

    - thing is there is a setting in bios that directs sys fans to read the CPU temp but this did not work in the fan control software - dunno if I got it all wrong or if Gigabyte's software is just horrible.

I hubbed the push/pull fans with the pump on CPU_fan header which resulted in synchronization

yea I had to set the fan curve to quiet in BIOS, then configure iCue accordingly.

Nick be aware that if (since) you've got the fans connected to the AIO pump and the single wire connected the CPU_FAN header, the BIOS settings will have no affect on those fans. Nor will they affect the pumps speed. This is why you need either iCUE or Link as that'd be the only way to control both the fans running off the pump and the pump's speed. Thus setting up a fan curve in the BIOS for the fans is useless.

And again, the single tach wire is only used to read the pump's speed, NOT control it. And the power for the pump (and connected fans) comes from the SATA cable.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for the heads up. I notice that the fans are louder while booting and then quieten down once in Windows.
