Disk 3 has been surprise removed / Windows 10

    Hi,

Running a fresh install of Windows 10 1903 (with 1909 update performed making ver: 18363.476) and have noticed this error in event viewer:

Disk 3 has been surprise removed.

    But I don't have a disk 3:

    Code:

    PS C:\Windows\system32> Get-PhysicalDisk | Select -Prop DeviceId,FriendlyName,SerialNumber

    DeviceId FriendlyName SerialNumber
    -------- ------------ ------------
    0 Samsung SSD 840 EVO 250GB S1DBNEAD890068T
    1 Samsung SSD 860 EVO 500GB S3YANB0M110574Y
    2 Seagate Expansion NA4CEG1G

    C:\Windows\system32>diskpart

    DISKPART> list disk

Disk ### Status Size Free Dyn Gpt
      -------- ------------- ------- ------- --- ---
      Disk 0 Online 232 GB 0 B *
      Disk 1 Online 465 GB 1024 KB *
      Disk 2 Online 931 GB 0 B

    DISKPART>
I've seen forum posts that this may be related to HYper-V/VMWARE but I'm not using any VMWARE?

I see an issue with the display of the disks in that there are 3 disks but the numbering is 0, 1 and 2. Used to be with the PATA drives one had to plug the data cables into the motherboard in a certain manner but the newer SATA cables can be plugged into any of the SATA ports on the motherboard and the OS installed as the builder desires.

Disk 2 listed appears to be an External USB drive, perhaps it is a USB port issue?

I removed the external drive and now the error appears again but it says disk 2 this time...I am starting to think this is a warning I can ignore.
