How do I initialize my External USB HDD WD My Passport?

I have an External USB HDD WD My Passport 0810 that needs initialization.

I have been using it for System Image backups via Macrium Reflect free as well as saving my data..
How do I initialize it so I can get back to using it for System Image backups again?
I'm not concerned about data that was on it as I have that data also saved on a USB flash drive also.
My Windows 10 Home version is 1903 (OS Build 18362.418)

You will have to create paritions then format it. Has it suddenley gone in which case it may be damaged some WD use their own format for the drive

There is no size information and suddenly it is not initialized.
It seems that your disk is dead.

I recently came into possession of a 500GB Passport marked for Macintosh, needed to be repartitioned and formatted for use on Windows. If using on both Mac and Windows could use exFAT formatting. I have 2 WDC 4TB USB drives that came as exFAT, the packaging is marked as usable on both Mac and Windows.

Apple uses GPT (Guid) partitioning should be readable enough
in disk management to re partition and reformat

    --- You are right

Following some instructions from AOMI I ended up with
Virtual Disk Manager: The device failed due to a fatal device hardware error.

    Time for a new one.

When using an external HDD it's very important that the disk is on a flat surface and once running you don't move it.
My nephew bought a external SSD drive. It probably cost more than a HDD but as it doesn't have moving parts it's more reliable.

Last month, my My Passport, which had been working fine for a decade, fell from my bed to the floor. Fortunately, it was not damaged because it was not working at that moment.
