Because if you look at the download page, it's only for Samsung NVMe SSD970 PRO, 970 EVO, 970 EVO Plus, 960 PRO, 960 EVO or 950 PRO. Also it's not needed at all for Windows 11.

1. I know that, I can read.
My "question" was --and I still don't know-- why Samsung had for the 970 EVO Pro the driver but the 980 EVO Pro not. Do you know??? Many on the 'net have the same question.

2. It's evidently also not needed in Windows 10 as my screenshot[s] shows.

3. Lastly, this is a Windows 10 forum. So in my opinion, any references to Windows 11 belong accordingly into that forum.

The reason is the older drives are Gen 3, and 980 and above need gen 4 drivers, which win 10 and above have generic ones for.
On older versions of windows, there wasn't a generic gen 3 driver, and IRST drivers would be used as default, but didn't have the capabilities of a 3rd gen driver specifically for NVMe.. Windows 10 got one later on.

Version 8.1.0.800 is working fine for me.

I have 2 computers - One is an Intel Z370 system and the other is an AMD X570 system. Every version of Samsung Magician since version 7.0.1.630 has locked up on both computers as soon as it tried to scan the drives. I had pretty much given up on it but tried version 8.0.1 and it finally worked, as does version 8.1.800. I have several Samsung and Intel drives in both computers. The Samsung drives all have the latest firmware and the NVME drives are all using Samsung driver v3.3.0.2003. I have no idea why Magician versions v7.1.0.770, v7.1.1.820, v7.2.0.930, v7.2.0.980, and v7.3.0 would lock up on 2 totally different machines - 1 Intel and 1 AMD, but they did. I never did figure out why.
