How to check old HDD....

Is this the disk you replaced with a SSD on your wife laptop?

There are two kinds of disk problems:
- Logical - Check disk can normally fix
- Hardware - no way to fix it

If you don't have anything (data) to retrieve from the disk, my suggestion is to open disk manager (C:\Windows\System32\diskmgmt.msc) and delete all partitions then create a new, format as NTFS.
Then run SeaTool extended test. Leave it running. It will take a long time. You don't need to be near by. Go to do something else.

Yes, it is the same disck I replace to SSD,,,
I try to check by this application, what propose me @zbook, but unfortunately, after a few connection and disconection my HDD is now not able to open... I can't do with it anything...only to throw it in the trash....
