Sounds like you may not have updated them for years either

When 1903 came out this 'error 9' problem occurred for some. It didn't affect me, the (then) current version of Macrium 7.2 took 1903 in its stride. Those that were affected were mostly still using the older version 7.1. I don't recognise the Macrium screenshot in your post #1, It looks like it may be older than 7.1. What version were you using?

I try to do a back up and it starts off doing so and then I get an error code 9....
...I am on a not too old Macrium 7.1.3317 BTW

Yes, I had not updated for years and had forgotten that. I use the free version which is adequate for my needs. I believe I had updated some time ago and then went back to my previous version because they had done something intrusive to the free version that I did not like. Don't recall what.

I have used MR for some time, I never let MR save a report (xml), I can hunt for the stuff I need :) -- I gave each partition a unique name, that helps.
