If the OP could post the specs on the computer (?)
here:
AMD Ryzen 5 1600
Asus PRIME A320M-K
16GB (2x8) DDR4 3000MHz
XFX RX 570 8GB GDDR5
SSD AData 960GB Sata3
How are you getting a Firewire port?
Maybe I missed it, but I don't see such a port in the specs for the motherboard. PRIME A320M-K | Motherboards | ASUS USA That suggests an add-in card or some sort of adapter.
In my ignorance, I expect the camera to work, if only because it uses TWAIN.
See the links in #6 regarding setting up a XP VM to use the camera. Seeing that you are also asking in the Linux forums, you are getting the same. answers as here. You need to just setup the VM and/or Ubuntu under Windows Sub-system for Linux and go for it. Asking is not going to tell you the what and if. Otherwise contact Olympus regarding this issue.
Screenshots provided are taken from Win7, not relevant. Please give the following info:
- url to driver package/bundle (installer or zip file, not inf) for both firewire card and olympus device installed in win10
- list of blocked drivers/files for both firewire card and olympus device as seen in win10 device manager.
no, screenshots are taken from win xp sp3. this is the old computer where currently the camera is connected, and it is working.
tomorrow when i get to school i will save the complete driver from CD in the zip, and put it here.
yes, this is the card: DIGITUS: DIGITUS - Produkte
it says: Plug & play, and Supports Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista and XP.
so i believe that the problem is not in the firewire card, the problem is in camera.
thank you

i understand this but no one answers, will the firewire interface work then?
Google says -and it is correct for you to query this- virtual firewire is not offered in VirtualBox. (Note, when I suggested a VM I did not know a firewire interface was involved).
You could try PCI Passthrough. Chapter 9. Advanced Topics
Worse case, image the XP drive and use that in a Dual Boot or move to a newer machine. Load up Ubuntu on a Live USB and try.
