my laptop wont turn on

my laptop is the white hp 15-r23ne. it was working one hour ago. it was on battery and the battery was about to empty. i was busy somewhere else. i heard the laptop beep a few times and then it switched off

now it wont switch on. when i press the power button the red light on the f12 button will turn on and then the white light on the capslock button will start to blink. it blinks twice then a short pause and then it blinks twice again and then another short pause and it repeats. the fan is on, the screen is off and there are no beeps when i try to turn the laptop on

i removed the battery and i disconnected the power wire and then i help the power button for 15 seconds and then i put back the battery and the power wire and i tried to turn it on. still the same issue. what is happening?

That would seem to indicate a corrupt bios.

i saw that link but how could the bios become corrupted on its own just like that? the battery was about to die and it beeped a few times before it switched off. i wasnt using the pc and i didnt update anything in it

Difficult to say what happened, particularly as you weren't in the room at the time.

Without trying to turn it on, with the power cord in does it say the battery is charging? If so, leave it to charge fully before investigating further. At least then we can rule out the battery as a cause of your problems.

it's ok. anyway the laptop is very old and it's time to retire that laptop. i will remove the hard disk and buy a new laptop

See if you can boot using a USB flash drive.

Power on and repetitively click F9.

See if you can boot to the bios by power on and repetitively clicking F2 or F10.
