    You have 4 choices.

    1) Take the whole mess parts and all to the repair guy and let him do his job. Stay out of it.

    2) Get tools and whatever you need, pop the cover and do it all yourself.

    3) Continue to post in multiple threads on the same issue(s) and accomplish nothing.

    4) Buy a new laptop. May be needed if you choose #2.

There is no option #5, which is do nothing.
Well if my drive was cloned already, I probably do that and pay them for it. But i been also paying shops so much for things for so many years. I seen them open it myself before and it look easy. But im concerned about that nvme that i receive fry my new 1tv nvme ssd. And people seem to say in this situation, you don't need a nvme enclosure because i just need to open up my laptop.

    Amazon.com

Can anyone here confirm this would work with my dell xps 15 9550 laptop to open it? It shows i need 2 tools... the torx 5 screwdriver and the phillips #00. I do have the phillps in an old toolbox but I don't have the torx 5. But reading the details of it, it says

This is NOT a 1.2mm 5-pointed star screwdriver (p5 pentalobe screwdriver), this screwdriver is CAN NOT used to remove the back panel screws. Please make sure that you know that you exactly need a T5 torx screwdriver.

Well all the screws are on the back of the xps laptop. But are they referring to something else? I will order this right now on amazon if anyone can confirm this works. Then I will open it up when i receive it in 2 days from amazon.

Again, the most important thing here is for me to clone the drive first and correctly. Those reviews for that nvme drive many seem to say it overheats and doesn't work and some even said it fried their new ssd. So i thought if i can open up the laptop, it doesn't seem hard, just take out the 32 gb m.2 ssd... then put in the new 1tb nvme... clone it... then im good ... because from there, i can try put in new ram and battery and if any issue, go to repair shop to pay them for the other 2 jobs.

I've never opened that laptop, but supposedly it wants a T5 Torx driver. Dell XPS 15 9550 Battery Replacement - iFixit Repair Guide

I've never encountered a P5 Pentalobe screw, but apparently it's something Apple uses to require a special tool to open their cases. Amazon.com

Ignore the tortured English in the paragraph that you quoted. You want a T5 Torx driver.

Torx is fairly common, and the drivers are readily available in (US) hardware stores. You may even find it not much more expensive to buy a set.

Have you looked in the manual to see what that means?

I will check online now... this is very frustrating, I dont even want to bother with this anymore. Only I can have all these electronic problems.

Will doing that battery test report show if the battery is bad? Oh man this is so frustrating.

I turned off laptop. Then turned it on again without plugged in. It seem to be fine for like a minute or so... i connect my charger to it... it would charge for at most 1 minute... then right now while charged...its flashing orange light. Whether charged or not charged... its flashing orange right now repeatedly.

Does the battery report show anything important though?

What does your manual say about that LED flashing orange? That might save you some time if you figure out what it means first.

Nothing jumps out as bad in the battery report to me.

So are you saying if its a bad battery, it would show it in that report? I didn't took the full screenshot since it would go back all the way few years down the road since thats when i got it. Do you need to see picture of the top part? Or is what i show which shows the last few days good enough?

Which is the manual for it? You mean the laptop manual as in this one?

If that's the owner's manual for your model, then crack it open and see what it says for orange LED.

I'm not familiar with battery report, so someone else who is can bless it - it looks fine to me from what I can interpret.
