Hey all, so i ordered the battery and got it last week. I just thought about something right now as im not sure if this is an issue or not.

The battery i bought, i got it off parts people as that is the official dell parts. Now last week, when i was outside the US... i went to a repair shop and had them remove my old battery due to swelling... so my laptop now is being used plugged in ac charger etc.

Now as im in the US now and going to bring the laptop to a repair shop for them to put in my new battery, ram and ssd... i just thought about this. The battery that has been supplied to me by parts people, its only the battery and nothing else. But because the person last week helped me remove the swollen battery... was there screws stuck to the laptop that is needed to put in the new battery? I just thought about this right now because when i go to the repair shop here in the US and bring them the battery to put in and other parts, is there going to be an issue because there are missing screws?

Justy. How would anyone here know if you are missing screws. Look in the manual somebody provided a link to.

If the shop you are taking it to knows anything about what they are doing, they may have some lose screws laying around.

    Don't sweat it.

Well here is the thing. The nvme enclosure that im going to receive, well i read in the last few reviews that it fried a brand new ssd and someone else mentioned it doesn't even work. So now im a bit hesistant to even use that if i were to clone it. And others, not this forum suggest that I can do this without an enclosure... and said most recommend it... but of course it would require me to open up the laptop myself.

Again, I don't want to open the laptop up myself... but I sort of want to try as I never done this before. And well paying a good amount just for them to open it up and close it in a short time... I been doing that for way too long. So i was thinking about doing it myself. So thats why i thought if i tried with the putting in new battery, wouldn't that be issue because the screws they took out... they probably took those out or threw them away? They did dispose of my swollen battery. And again when looking at the battery i have now, its just battery, i see no screws. So i have to buy some screws for this if that is the case?

Also I look through an old tool kit i have but never used it. I dont have that torx screwdriver but do have that phillips screwdriver. So i could buy that torx on amazon and then open up the laptop myself? Again, a part of me wants to do something like this myself...because im not learning and each time im paying for something that i know can be easily done.

But in general, should a swollen battery that removed a battery, do they typically leave the screws out? Or are they screws generally there is what I like to know here.

Because if its there, I think i could probably do this myself. Again, I seen some videos, can I always wanted to do this myself. I do have an old asus laptop that i can open up but of course the layout is not the same etc.

You will never open it, give this up.

You won't learn as you are not ever going to do it, Stop !

Don't worry about them, the shop has plenty.

Give it up, you are beating this to death like all your other threads.

Yes, the screws should have been saved. The several I've worked with did have screws to secure the battery.

    Justy.

    You have 4 choices.

    1) Take the whole mess parts and all to the repair guy and let him do his job. Stay out of it.

    2) Get tools and whatever you need, pop the cover and do it all yourself.

    3) Continue to post in multiple threads on the same issue(s) and accomplish nothing.

    4) Buy a new laptop. May be needed if you choose #2.

There is no option #5, which is do nothing.

    ?????

There was a great hit song about you around 1952 or 1953, Pauly.

Doubt if you've heard it, but it's easily found on Youtube by The Ames Brothers. Title is "Undecided". Good finger-snapping beat, you can dance to it. They gave it an 88 on "American Bandstand".

    Here's part of the lyric:

First you say you do and then you don't
And then you say you will and then you won't
    You’re undecided now
So what are you gonna do

Would those screws typically be still in my laptop still? When you say the screws should been saved, could they still be inside? Because all he did was show me the swollen battery and said i will throw it out and obviously he did that. But its just now i thought... wait aren't there screws that are attached to the battery that I will need when i have the 84wh battery attched.
