"Plugged in, not charging" - that's not good. Is the charger plugged in all the way? Show a screenshot with your charging bank plugged in to the laptop.

So when I power off the laptop... it continues to still orange flash repeatedly... then as it powers off... the orange light of course goes off as expected.
Steve... yes the charger is plugged in all the way. I had this laptop for over four years and other laptops before this... I know what it means to have a charger plugged in all the way into the laptop...

Few days ago when you said to install the dell power manager, even with these issues, it showed Excellent in the health even when it kept flashing orange and white etc. But now, it has message of non dell battery... and even unknown like on this phot.
And it had that message the battery need to be replaced and dell power manager does not recognize this battery.
So what could the culprit be possibly?
I'm assuming options are
Battery Went Bad
That Jack Adapter Went Bad?
The rainbow wire isn't plugged in correctly like I first did it when I had issues at installation? But i fixed the placement of it and it worked for two weeks with no issue.
I mean I did do that ram test few days ago but I don't think that could possibly cause it
But when I use it without battery and just the ac charger and it works with no issue... of course it would show no battery is detected... is that better or worst? I did use it for few minutes with no battery and ac charger plugged in and it worked fine.. though I will test it for longer time just to confirm.
Could it possibly be I never updated my bios? Again, I do know and read of ppl bricking their laptops when doing a bios... so that is like the last option I want to try here. If you google battery issues and bios update, you read lot of cases where ppl just tried the bios update and it bricked their laptop.... so that is why I would only do this as a last option.

If i connected the battery wrong... you know the part where its like that rainbow wire from the dell battery that connects to the xps laptop part? If you don't connect it correctly, is it possible to get all these error messages such as the
Not official dell battery
It does not recognize the battery
And that other message of
The battery needs to be replaced?
Because when I first tried to install the battery, i kept getting orange and white flashes and after taking it out and putting it back in over and over again, it showed a white light when charging and worked for a bit under two weeks until right now.
So plugging in the battery incorrectly or its loose could cause these three messages? Or it could not?
I think it's time to take it in to the computer repair shop now.
Try this only if you want to.
Open Device Manager > look for this >
Right click on it > you will see this >
Click on " Disable "
This will shut down your lappy after clicking on it.
Turn the lappy back on, post a new screenshot of Dell Power Manager.
Now go back into Device Manager > Find this again >
Right click on it > this time it will have Enable instead of Disable > Click on Enable.
Post a new screenshot of Dell Energy Management.
It should show the battery charging this time.
If it does not, repeat to Disable, then Enable a second time.
Try this only if you want to.
I did this on my own lappy today, it will not break anything at all.
My battery was doing the same thing, not charging, amber light blinking, Unauthorized Battery.
Now it is back to charging like it should.
Don't ask me 100's ???????'s about it.

@paulyjustin Is your PW7015L power bank for a 65-watt unit?
Dell Power Companion (18000mAh) PW7015L and Slim Power Adapter - 65 Watt
https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell...pc-accessories
--- Do you know if that’s the case?
According to your post #23 “My laptop 56whr battery is RRCGW”
--- Is that what you purchased from parts people as that is the official dell parts?
--- Maybe you purchased an 84-Whr battery?
--- If its neither one of those battery's, what is it?
Not knowing which battery, you purchased, I’d say the AC adapter that should have come with the battery you purchased should also have been included.
--- I just went through that 3 weeks ago with someone who didn't agree with me on that.
--- To make a long story short: too bad for them.
Then there’s traveling within the US & elsewhere: I hope the power adapters for wherever you go are in proper order.
Bottom line though is, I agree with steve108 in post #103 "I think it's time to take it in to the computer repair shop now."
Looks that way according to the battery report image on
Dell XPS 15 Laptop Battery Replacement

I eventually got the battery to work after so many tries. I had to keep opening it and putting the battery back in many times. I do not think i connected it properly the first few times which is why im having all these issues.
Also... it doesn't help when in youtube videos, you see them plug it in... they don't show the up close camera if them connecting the actual rainbow color into the spot.
I was using my other laptop the other time while at this because of the issues but of course it was only web browsing etc.

Yes the pw7015l is the powerbank i have.
I purchased the 84wh battery from parts people site which is official dell. The 56wh battery, i had that one before, but i bought the 84wh one as i had removed the 2.5 inch hard drive from it... and put in a 1tb nvme to make room for the bigger 84wh battery.

Another thing I have is this. On dell power manager... when the laptop is fully charged at 100%, it always show this message
Charge status: 100% available, plugged in, not charging.
That should be the message when its full battery right?
When its 95% for example, it would show 95% available, plugged in, charging.
Also... do you recommend I make it only charge up to 80% battery as oppose to 100%? Again, i use my dell xps 15 9550 laptop as a desktop pretty much 99% of the time plugged in. I read online, that makes the battery last longer... but someone here says it doesn't matter because these dell batteries will do what it can to make it as long as possible?
