"Supposed to fix" is the key phrase here. These updates are supposed to fix this and that while at the same time may screw other things up. Windows 7 to me was the best Windows operating system with virtually no issues that I can recall. I do like Windows 10 but there always seems to be issues with it some of which have never been fixed. For example, periodically Windows Explorer has to be reset to get the Safe to Remove Hardware notification when ejecting a usb device and the Windows Defender Scheduled Scan returns a result of 0x8 (or something like that). It runs properly the first time after a reboot. I'm sure you're aware of these things. Nothing in life is perfect so we just have to basically play the cards that are dealt if you know what I mean. Take care.

For whatever reason the Document(s) pending issue has not happened in the last 3 or 4 days. I don't think this has anything to do with it but I removed the printer from my son's laptop (which is hardly ever used). I never installed the printer software on the laptop, just had it find the printer and was then able to print from the laptop. May be a coincidence but the problem has not happened since on my desktop. Again, thanks to everyone that tried to help.
