Crucial's system scanner showed that the following memory stick will work in my pc: Crucial 8GB DDR3L-1600 UDIMM
Although Crucial is a reputable brand, I simply don't want to pay the price for their memory. So my question is will the following work as an alternative?

The L part of the specification is important to note, indicates the voltage is lower, probably about 1.35V instead of 1.5V, could cause problems as drastic as a lost motherboard.
At least with Crucial/Micron, if you get the wrong product, they will exchange it immediately. With Newegg, a lot of products are sold through third party resellers on their site. It can take time to get an exchange or money back.
Someone on here may have a spare stick that they can possibly work a deal. Change your title to include “Looking For”.

Otherwise buy a 16gb kit and still only have 50-50% chance it will work buying other places with restocking and shipping fees to absorb.
Let me add the usual plea to the OP to specify the make/model of the PC (or, at least, the motherboard). If you ask "Will this memory stick work for my pc?", you ought to tell us what the PC is.
Are you adding the DIMM to existing RAM, or not?
The L suffix indicates low voltage. Its desirable, but probably unnecessary.
If you need low voltage RAM (unlikely), the Newegg power search function includes it: 1.35V, 8GB, DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800), Desktop Memory, Memory, Components - Newegg.com
You need pay no more, but you'll have fewer choices.
Another alternative is to choose RAM from the QVL (qualified vendors list) for your PC's motherboard. The main problem with that is that motherboard manufacturers test only a tiny fraction of the RAM that is on the market.
Looks like you are looking for DDR3L (1.35 v) which is standard for older laptops, assuming your specs are listed correctly on here.
You need 1333 MHz, max of 8 GB total. According to the Laptop specs.
Crucial says 8 GB kit(2x4GB) DDR3L-1600 SODIMM PC3-12800 1.35v.
One of the JEDEC profiles would be 1333 MHz for that.
My Laptop uses the same stuff and upgraded with Crucial memory about 2 months ago, though in UK I have a cheaper supplier of Crucial modules, so did not buy directly from them.
That Newegg reference module won't even fit the SODIMM socket. It is for Destop PCs.
Unless your specs are wrong on here. If they are then better give more detail.
The PC is an Asus M52BC-US004S Desktop AMD FX-8300 3.3GHz 12GB
The Crucial scan showed it could support up to 32GB. I just want an additional 8 for now.

Above are the specs Crucial kicks out for compatible RAM.
About all you can do is take a chance, preferably with a brand name and from a vendor that has return privileges. Most any RAM you look at will be unbuffered and Non-ECC; concentrate on those specs above, especially the 1.35 volts and roll the dice.
