    Driver for Epson Perfection 1650

I have a computer that I built ten years ago and it continues to perform well. It was running Windows XP64 at first then 7-64. It now has SSDs, anyway, I decided to take the plunge and upgrade to Win 10 but could only do a clean install using the method available with my Win 7 key. So...I lost the so-hard-to-find driver for my Epson Perfection 1650. Epson took down the Vista 64 driver and any later ones and refers all 64 bit users to a company named Hamrick who sells Win10-64 compatible drivers. SW is called ViewScan or somesuch and I think works OK and is something like $40. Anyway, I found an old thread on a Win 7 Forum with a link to a driver. I am now happy to share the file with you as it works after a bit of a serpentine install I will describe. EPSON_PERFECTION_1650_VISTA_x64_DRIVER
You must join mediafire and get a Basic (free) account. Beware the spammy buttons etc. Once you have the account, you can download the file I believe. Find some app to open the .rar and extract the files to a folder. I made one on my desktop and named it Epson. You can run setup and Epson Scan will install but it won't start. You must then disable driver signing Enable/Disable Device Driver Signing in Windows 10 - Technipages, and open device manager. Find your scanner which you have to have plugged in, and manually update the driver by pointing to the driver folder. The driver will update and you will be off to the races. If you do not disable driver signing, you will get an error that the hash is wrong or absent blah blah and it won't work. Enjoy!

I discovered Epson have also pulled the drivers for my old Perfection 1200 Photo scanner. I'm glad I archived the drivers. I expect Epson support may provide the drivers if you ask. Also try the Epson Print and Scan app on the MS Store.
