    Oops; my apologies. I had no idea that was a "micro USB 3.0" connector.

    Makes sense. USB 3.0 and later have more electrical contacts than 2.0 and before.

    Would I need 2.0 A to Micro or mini B? Also would 3.0 of same be backwards compatible?

    The drive in the link is USB 2.0.

    I believe that the cable is USB A to USB Mini B. A Micro USB 3.0 cable would not work.

    My possible confusion is between mini and micro USB. What idiot decided to make the two similar but incompatible plugs, I'd probably best never find out.

    No, because USB 3.x micro and mini and B ends will not work with USB 2.x devices. USB 2.x will work with USB 3.x devices.

Seagate HD (USB) not migrated
