current hard drive compatible with new win 10 computer?

hello just got a new dell computer that has bays for extra hard drives. I want to move a drive from my old computer to the new one. the hard drive is a wdc wd1001fals-40u9b0 ata. I think the new computer uses sata connectors. not sure what the old hard drive is, maybe 2.5

do yu suppose this drive will work in new computer?

That's a standard SATA 3.5 inch hard drive. I certainly would expect it to work in the new PC assuming the motherboard has SATA ports and you have the appropriate power and data cables.

If the new Dell has Windows on its hard drive, connect the old drive and see if Windows recognizes it after you start the PC. If it does, you should be able to reformat the old drive and do as you wish with it.

Or do you mean that the WD is in the new Dell PC?

I looked up the drive in question, and according to what I could find it is a SATA drive, so it should work without problems in the new computer.

The only problem if it's NTFS most files will be owned by the sid of the old system and you may need to take ownership before you can access them
