Asus N501VWAS.307 BIOS firmware update file -- what to do with it

I've downloaded this file to update the laptop's firmware but I see no instructions on how to use it. I see instructions for other equipment but not for this one? The instructions are not always the same so...

    Would someone point me?

Don't update your BIOS under Windows.

Download the BIOS file, extract the file you downloaded to a USB flash disk.
Reboot and enter BIOS Windows 10 - How to enter BIOS configuration? | Official Support | ASUS Global. Go to EZ Flash, browse to the bios file on the USB flash disk and hit update.

I recall flashing a bios with a floppy disk, flash-cards and USB sticks. The last bunch I was able to install through Windows and I never had any negative results. I consider myself new to Windows 10 and still learning the ropes.

What is the benefit of doing the update directly through the bios without windows involved? As I write this I'm thinking that maybe keeping windows away from the bios functions makes sense. Has there been frequent problems using windows to update the bios?

WT, windows security features and antivirus can interfere with the update and you can brick your computer.
As BIOS is the first software to load, there is no better way to update BIOS than by built in BIOS update.

Never trust a windows BIOS update program with an Asus BIOS, always unzip to a clean USB Thumb Drive you have been linked to the rest

    Ah thank you all.

    Two mistakes:
    - I was expecting the USB to be bootable.
    - I missed that "Easy Flash" is an active button. I thought it was a simple category label.

It was easy and over in about a minute.

Again, thanks very much to you all.
