Wireless printers not being found after clean install

I think the title says it all. Did clean install-moved things back into place-set up accounts, etc., etc., but, I did all this with wireless printers so they were never picked up (not in device manager). When I used SETTINGS-Devices-Printers to find/add the printers they are found (some of the times) but when I ask to add them I'm told drivers are missing.

You have answered your own question. Install the drivers.

With a clean install you have to manually install any peripherals.....printers, after market keyboards and mice. You have to use the supplied install media that comes with the device. If That's not available you can usually download said driver/software package from the manufacturers website.

What is the brand/make/model of printer?

One is an HP LaserJet 1102w and the second is a Canon Pixma mg5400/20. I'll seek out the drivers but in a brain-cramp moment I thought because they were wireless on the network I wouldn't need drivers (hitting self up-side of head).

Also the printer WiFi needs to be turned ON. My printer WiFi was OFF and I had to turn it ON to connect to my laptop so do not assume printer WiFi is ON by default.

And, apparently, it has to be on same network. Not trying to be silly but many of us now have dual band routers and modems with different networks and even guest log ins. So, I'm assuming that if one sets up printer on 2.4ghz band network it might not work if one sets up camp on the 5ghz network. I don't know, and am prepared to learn otherwise.

Some printers work Wireless Direct, don't need Wi-Fi access through the Router. I use a Laserjet and an Officejet connected to my Router by Ethernet and any computer that has Wi-Fi access to my Network can use them if I install their software.
