No DVD Drive in Explorer.
I cannot see the DVD drive, or use it.
There is no 'D:' drive in the explorer tree.
But if I click on 'This PC' it will be listed in the 'devices' pane that pops up as 'drive D.'
If I click on it in devices there it asks me to insert a disk. Whether or not there is a disk in there. It doesn't seem to realise there is one there.
It was working fine last time I used it - couple of months ago I think.
Anything I can do?
edit:
Problem solved. Well not 'solved' but gone away.
I took the drive to a different computer and tried it there. Same thing: showed in the devices pane but not in the explorer tree. But this time when I inserted a disk it played it. Showed it in the explorer tree.
So I brought the drive back to this machine and hooked it up again.
This time it is performing okay.
So I don't know what that was about. I would delete the question but I don't think that can be done.
:)
