Memory, Single or Dual Rank

Just looking for memory to upgrade my laptop, seen on Amazon that there's a kit, 2 x 16Gb and it's dual rank

Not heard of this?
Will it work just as well?

Dual rank and dual channel are not the same.

Doubt it would be compatible but only you know your computers model/...
I don't know of many laptops that can handle 16gb sticks of memory 8 is usually the max and even that is not automatic.

Dual rank 16gb sticks is normal seeing memory sticks are only so long they can't fit all memory chips on one side
So they are on both sides = dual rank.

In short, if laptop accept 16 GB sticks (and yours should), it will probably should work.
Get 2666 MHz rams with low latency. This is supported by your laptop. Dual rank doesn't matter. Most stick are.

This is a dual-rank 16GB SODIMM that is compatible with your laptop. (I wonder whether all 16GB DDR4 SODIMMs are dual rank at this time?)

That doesn't guarantee that the stick that you purchased will work, but it's good news. If I had to bet, I'd say that you're good.

looking at it, it seems most 16GB sticks are dual rank, 8Gb are showing as single rank

decided to go for these from crucials site, wasn't that much more that what i was looking at
