Every time Win10 updates I have to reinstall wpdmtp.inf for my phone.

Windows 10 x64 1903 had some updates today that required a reboot. After rebooting it no longer recognized my Android phone.

As with the umpteen prior times I had to go to C:\Windows\Inf\wpdmtp.inf and right click then click Install to get it to recognize the phone.

Why does Windows 10 insist on breaking this almost every time it updates anything? I used to be able to just plug my phone into USB and it'd work. Then at some point it changed to where I have to tap Allow on a popup on my phone before Windows will access it.

How do I get back to the "It Just Works!" way it used to work, or at least stop Windows from repeatedly breaking wpdmtp.inf so it has to be reinstalled?

basically its a silent war between google and microsoft and its not always microsoft's fault all the time , sometimes google update android's security to an extent windows has troubles accessing it at all then silently fixes it leaving you wondering what happened , then windows on the other hand may detect certain android versions as threats as sometimes these may act as a remote hacking tool or maybe a virus carrier medium ending up disallowing devices that demand full system access not just media access , hence the end result is that things will always have its ups and downs with an android device and a windows .

on a side notice do check with driver update utilities such as io-byte driver booster and the likes for an updated driver for your phone , sometimes these hold on to certain moded drivers that windows find more updated / less troubling than originals .
