    USB devices disconnecting at Random

    Windows 10 Pro x64 18392.295
    Intel I7 7700
Asus G11CD-K (offically what it says in bios on model name)

Got some file transfers going from 2 External drives, and some reason my wireless headset keeps losing connection with it's Receiver on rear of the PC, the other items are plugged into the 2 USB Type A 3.1 ports, should that be affecting the other controller? Folder size isn't too large, about 30Gbs

it was working fine all day

Headset also charging with wire into front port that i normally charge it from

Is it a driver issue? motherboard issue? system is about 3 years old almost next month, Dust cleaned out every 3 months

Just Don't Get this at all

Power supply is EVGA G3 650 watt

ok here goes , all you need is to unplug then re-plug whatever usb 2 device after plugging high power consuming devices on usb 3.x ports . why you ask ? with systems that still have both usb 2 & 3 ports they manage to rely on the 2.0 controller ic to allocate power needed for both types of ports because its cheaper , and sometimes the ic doesn't detect newly inserted devices on 3.0 ports resulting in providing older allocated watts despite more watts are needed which render connected devices unstable . the only way to refresh the power allocation is by unplugging and re-plugging a usb 2 port for it to do a device power revision .

oh ok, well managed to get it working better, cancelled the file transfer, disconnected the one non external power usb 3.0 drive, moved that up front, left the 2nd external with external power on rear port (only one i had left), unplugged usb 2.0 headset wireless receiver for Logitech G933, and replugged that in, seems to be working better so far now

its fixed just because you unplugged the usb 2.0 headset then re-plugging it as a final step , non of the other blahs matter really :)

Oh ok, thought the other part mattered :) glad its working better, as was getting low on space on the 1tb external, so decided to move some of the files to the 8tb external (externally powered)
