Add more space to C partition without reinstalling windows ?

I am running low on space in C drive, i want to take some space from D drive and add it to C drive. Is it possible to do this without reinstalling windows ? and if it possible, is it safe ?

That depends if D drive is a separate partition on the same drive or if it is on a second drive.

    Hi there

    1) If its on the same drive use any decent partition manager to re-size it.

    2) if you need to move to a bigger drive then first image the partition. Then restore to new drive then re-size with any partition manager.

(you can clone the HDD to a bigger one also)

Both imaging and partitioning software are free -- Macrium is well liked by a lot of people on these forums while for partitioning you can use qparted (stand alone bootable) or minitool partition wizard etc etc.

    Cheers

    Conversely, please see:
Free Up Drive Space in Windows 10
    - which includes good ways to see where your space has gone

What sort of PC do you have, and how large is your system disk?

Umm- why partition such a small drive? You have plenty of free space on D: so simply run e.g. Minitool Partition Wizard, and 'Apply' the changes you make via its GUI, then reboot to put them into effect.

I note no other Windows-related partitions.. is this a MBR installation?

Minitool Partition Wizard would be better- in case there's a partition Disk Management doesn't show. Like this:

    - the 16Mb partition isn't shown by DM.

I probably will add 30gb space to C drive from D drive. Is there any tutorial to do this with MiniTool?
