"No c.d. in drive" message when trying to burn files.

    I'm using Ashampoo's Burning Studio 16 and it automatically finalised it.

    The discs are Verbatim CD-R

    I downloaded another application, Burn Any, from Major Geeks.

    That works, albeit slowly. Once the disc has been burnt the verification is slower than the Second Coming, taking over 30 minutes to check 6 of 17 files. I just gave up and tested the disc. It plays well.

    Why would verification be so slow?

    In all the years of writing any cd/dvd, I have never verfied a disk and have never had any issues.
    Try CD burner xp. Direct Download no adware
