Delete Windows Partition on Second HDD?

HI so recently I changed my HDD for a SSD for my ASUS ROG laptop and now I'm using my HDD as for space for my games. Thing is that I want to delete the old windows partition on the HDD so I can have more room. What do I do?

Are you having problems formatting that drive?

My guess is that the second HDD contains a data partition and a Windows partition. We need a screenshot of disk management to be able to offer any kind of informed advice:

    Here it is.

Also I notice from time to time since I did the new install on my SSD I have noticed that the system CPU at times will randomly spike at times to 18%-20% for awhile and then goes away. The culprit I believe is ntoskrnl, since when I ran the process explorer tool it was showing that taking up the CPU. Any ideas?

I also don't want to format the disk drive since it has my steam games on there and I would not like to have to re download all of that.

Have you confirmed that this PC will operate normally with the old hard drive disconnected?

Yes, when I did a new install on the SSD I had detached the old HDD and didn't but it back in until I had gotten done setting up Windows again on the new SSD.

Have you attempted to simply delete the unwanted partitions on the old drive, via Disk Management?

I wouldn't be surprised by intermittent CPU spiking on a new installation---Windows does a lot of so-called housekeeping in the early days.

CPU will show activity whenever something is going on, same as the hard drive use of percentage. Some hard drives can have a better cache than others, so drive use percentage can be lower.

Go to Disk Management as seen in your earlier post in this thread.

Right click one of the unwanted partitions.

Do you see a "delete volume" choice.

If its not greyed out, try to delete it right then and there.

That deleted partition should then become "unallocated" space.

And then you should be able to add that unallocated space to another partition, via "extend volume" choice in Disk Management.
