64GB microSD card - want to format with one large partition but can't

I'm currently struggling to format a 64GB microSD card. I've been into disk manager, etc but can't seem to be able to create a single partition - the minimum it will let me create is two (one of those is 2GB) but when I've done that and put the card into my PC I see FOUR partitons (F, G, H, I) when I click on 'My PC'.

I've tried deleting these, creating new ones, re-formatting, etc but I can't seem to create a single large partition.

I also need the partition to be formatted as exFat.

Any ideas please where I'm going wrong?

    The card is a SanDisk.

    Thanks

When you format a USB drive or a MicroSD card, in Windows, you can use exFAT as the file system, alongside FAT32 and NTFS.

Delete the partition then try formatting MicroSD card.

Thanks, so I go into Disk Management, delete all volumes and partitions and create a new single partition which I format as exFat, size is 59.48 GB

When I look at 'My PC' I now see THREE drives letters, F, G and H (H is greyed out)

F is of course the new 59.4 GB partition

    G is 892 KB

    H I can't do anything with.

Where are G and H appearing from? They only appear when I insert the microSD card.

How do I get rid of them as they don't show up in Disk Management.

    Thanks!

Thanks all. Looks like the problem is being caused by creating the volume as exFat - for some reason that creates an additional, much smaller volume as well as the main one. If I use NTFS it only creates one volume and associated drive letters.

    Not sure why!

It is because there is no need for exFat on a SD card that size. Fat32 is fine for that type of storage. ExFat is best if you are placing very large datasets, photos, video, CAD on the SD card.

    Hi,
NTFS is fine no need for any fat on an sd card unless a camera... needs it.

I digress. NTFS on a USB stick or SD card is worthless. FAT32 works for more than if it will be used for a camera. Cross Platform use is why you use FAT32, aling with those files stored on these devices are not going to exceed the limitations of FAT32.
